UnPerfect - Experience God's Presence and Purpose in the midst of Difficult Circumstances
Hey, Sister. Are you frustrated that life hasn’t turned out the way you planned? Do you wonder if abundant life is possible on this side of eternity? I’ve been where you are, and girl, do I have some hope to share with you! Welcome to UnPerfect. I’m Shelly Snead, and each Tuesday I bring you stories from my real life - the hilarious AND the hard - and hope-giving truth from the Bible. I am honest about my jacked-upness while still confident in my Jesus. We'll chat about practical ways to experience God's presence and purpose in our difficult circumstances and brokenness. On Fridays, listen in as I chat with faith-filled guests - "Fridays With Friends." Join us on a journey of authentic faith in the midst of "hard" with plenty of laughter on the side. Together, let’s find glimpses of God’s glory in the now and the not-yet.

2 | The Comparison Trap Part 1
Click here to text me directly! I can't wait to hear from you.
We've all fallen victim to the comparison trap! Today's episode tackles four areas where comparison tends to creep into our lives and take over our contentment - appearance, ministry, marriage, and abilities/personalities- and offers suggestions for keeping our focus on all that Jesus is doing in our lives. (Tune in next week for three more comparison areas and practical tips for avoiding them).
Some quotes from the episode:
“Gift envy occurs when we compare our gifts to others, feel dissatisfied with what God gave us, and become resentful or jealous of how God uses others.” (Rick Warren)
"The only person you should compare yourself to is you yesterday." (John Lee Dumas)
"How tragic would it be to get to the end of my life and realize I spent it chasing down someone else’s? " (Shelly Snead)
Main scriptures mentioned:
1 Cor. 12:16-18
Matthew 25:14-30
